Head up into the town and post a bag of surplus stuff home, buy a book and wander into the I site to check on buses for tomorrow, and back to Mountain Road Cycles. Great news. Callum can do the job straight away. He has all the parts. Yeha!! Rush off to check out of motor camp, and by the time I get back Callum is all done. Wow, still time to catch today's bus. Just as I'm about to leave, there is a phone call for me on the shop phone. Local newspaper reporter wants to interview me..... Stunned.
Head down to I site to meet reporter and grab a
ticket for today's bus. Sorry says Lynne. What? Have a better option. My partner Marshal will drive you to Owhango. What? More stunning jaw dropped silence, and some wet eyes...... I just cannot believe the generosity and kindness I am receiving on this trip. Thank you Te Awamutu. You turned what might have been a very low point in my trip, to unexpected and emotional high point.
Marshal dropped me back at Toni and Marks, where the new wheel slotted in perfectly, the new tyre went on the trailer easily, and the sun shone warmly on me as I snoozed on the deck.
What an amazing day, and an amazing adventure.
