Really glad to turn off the main road and onto the Rail Trail. This is my kind of riding. Beautiful scenery, easy riding, no traffic, and only five other people. Had a fall, first of many I'm sure, sliding along a railway sleeper and landing on my shoulder...ouch.

Wind didn't let up on way down, so paused a while in a couple of the tunnels. One spot where there used to be a bridge you have to climb down into a river and up a steep track. Lovely flat road all the way to Featherston, but the wind was vicious, so really glad to hit the Gusto Cafe. Accommodation tonight at Featherston Motels and Camping, courtesy of Featherston Lions. Thank you all.
Word is a couple of Lions Clubs from the Kapiti Coast have made donations to Prostate Cancer Federation. Thank you. And to any of you guys who may be considering a Dr visit....... JUST DO IT.
