Thank you to all that helped make this adventure possible, especially Samsung for the awesome Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Bivouac Outdoors for the GoPro Hero 3, the Lions Club of Hanmer Springs, and all the Lions Clubs up and down the country who hosted me, the team at Motu Trails, Malcolm and Rhona, and all the other random well wishers along the way.
Special thanks to my daughter Lisa and wife Juliet for their support and continued advice, help and sorting of problems. Love you heaps.
To all those who made comments on Facebook and my blogs while I was away, Thank You. Those who txt me or rang, Thank You. You won't believe how encouraging those personal messages were. I really appreciated all that support.
So Round One is complete. Next Juliet and I are joining a few friends in the USA in August and September, riding through the trails in Colorado, Utah, Idaho and Arizona, getting fit for the Global Ride......
Thanks to all who made donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Over $1000 was raised on my website, and a good deal more was donated directly to the Foundation. This was in no way my goal. I think spreading the message and awareness of Prostate Cancer has worked, and now the Government has pledged $4m to this cause, the message will be spread even wider. My message is (just in case you haven't heard): Go and get your blood tests done........
The adventure does not end here. Over the summer Juliet and I are planning numerous south Island multi day rides. The Borland Road, Mavora Lakes, and possibly the Mountains to Sea trail. Why not join us?
2014 sees the Global cycle begin. Watch this
space for dates, and perhaps plan on joining me somewhere along the journey. Would love to have you along.
