It is meant to be a holiday.......but Ju and I have been BUSY. Spent most of the weekend indoors ( but since the weather was stink not a problem) sorting all our accumulated junk, so as we can rent our lovely Plughole Cottage, our Hanmer house, while I'm away cycling. Made great progress, and shifted a trailer load to the flat in Chch.
Then we spent a morning painting our brand new, still to be inserted, double glazed windows, being built by our mate Chris from Stanton Joinery. This man is a star, and a fantastic craftsman. Get hold of him for any "bespoke" workmanship. By the time I'm back in Hanmer I reckon Chris & Jonathon will have the west side of the house fitted, leaving Ju and I time to get the walls painted........ got to ensure my remaining time in Hanmer is as busy as possible.....
Over the weekend we also made three visits to Bivouac Outdoors and worked through my list of gear. Gotta say, the team at Tower Junction are incredibly helpful. Looking forward to picking up my new kit next week.
This weekend has also been a weekend of family birthdays. I know grandson Marty had a great day today celebrating his fourth birthday with a Hot Wheels party.
Then my lovely sister and her new good looking husband celebrated their 30th birthdays.....
Oh and one of my good mates, and fantastic supporter (he is my Samsung man) is due a birthday real soon. Happy birthday to you all.
So now I'm ready for a road trip. Heading south tomorrow. Just waiting for my new bolts that will connect my trailer to the Surly Ogre, then it's off to Invercargill to see Amber, Jess and Paul. Will do a bit of a pub(licity) crawl on the way. Watch for photos and stories in newspapers, all about GrumGoesGlobal for Prostate Cancer & CanTeen
Grum, Ju or Lisa will be updating this blog while Grum is on his adventure.
