Today neighbour Jeff took us out riding on the Biose Foothills. Jeff is a biking nut. Showed us 5 of his 6 bikes, the other is in Arizona for the winter months, and then led us through some wonderful country for a couple of hours. He graciously waited for us as he wizzed up slopes on his single speed, solid frame.....you need to meet this guy Kevin and Mike. It was fantastic to ride with a local to show us the way, and he chose routes (routs) that really suited our ability. Really appreciate your time and effort Jeff. I'm sure we will be able to return the favor when you visit Hanmer Springs.
Councilor Fletcher, Community Board members, Smith and Gardiner, please note the photos of Biose's brand new play wave. Very similar to those I bought to your notice in Wanaka. We watched as people surfed Bodyboarded and kayaked the wave. Reports are that folk are coming from all over the state and beyond to play here. We need one in Hanmer Springs...on a specially dug channel ont he Waiau perhaps. I look forward to sitting in on progress reports at Community Board meetings when I get home.
There is still smoke in the air from Yosemite Fires. We want to head to Ketcham tomorrow, but there are fires over there as well. Are hoping that we can still ride the Fisher-Williams loop which comes highly recommended. About a 5hour drive via Idaho City seems like the most scenic route to take. Will be a change from the deserts of Nevada and Western Oregon.
Well Biose has been a revelation. Lovely people, great riding, and pretty prevalent outdoor ethos, and with the University classes starting today, lots of lovely young ladies wandering around in summery costume.......lots of hotties out biking and running in the hills this morning as well. Very good for the eyes and the general well being......
