A meeting with my my mate Verdon who is our Samsung Contact. I am very proud of this young man. As a 12/13 year old I began coaching him as a part of the Amuri Area School Cross Country team. Verdon was a very talented gutsy runner, and along with a team of others we worked very hard to raise Money and get fit enough to travel the Country to compete... with some startling success for a bunch of country bumpkins. Continuing with the same attitude in the business world has taken him far. Congatulations and thanks Verdon for the continued support.
Verdon also joined me on stage several times over the years. Learnt his lines well and remembered them and relished the acting. He's still very good at it.
A quick trip back to Malcolms to return RW and pick up the Surly only to find a puncture. And now its raining... but that is the forecast for the rest of the week so may as well get used to being wet. A
smooth nde out to Prostate Cancer Foundation to meet Clare but how do l cross the motorway to get to the motel? Every moment on a bike in the rain in the traffic of Auckland is an adventure. Am very much looking forward to getting back on the road tomorrow. Gale force winds rain and hail are predicted but that's why l am doing a winter training ride. Will l cope?
Thanks to Graeme Allen for the offer of bed at his Dads in Thames. Puts the pressure on to get there now.
Worse part of tomorrow will be saying goodbye again to my lovely Juliet. Only three weeks till I get home.
